The Oak Ridge High School Lady Wildcat Volleyball Team played host to District competitor Campbell County on Wednesday night. The Lady ‘Cats recovered quickly from the previous night’s lost to West and never looked back sweeping the Lady Cougars in straight sets. “This was a good bounce back game after last night’s poor performance,” said Head Coach Dave Kolodney. “I’m proud of the girls for being able to move on so quickly and put forth a pretty good effort tonight, especially with it being Senior Night.” Before the Match, the Wildcats honored their two Senior Co-Captains, Piper Halcrow and Mary Miller, who both played well and were named Co-Player of the Match by Kolodney. “All 10 girls got an opportunity to contribute and all made meaningful plays while they were on the court,” Kolodney continued. “We’ve got a lot of work to do so that we’re ready for the playoffs but it’s good to wrap up the weeks competition with a win.” Oak Ridge will finish the week with practices in preparation for the last week of the regular season, where they will travel to Halls (Monday) and host Farragut (Wednesday) for Dig Pink night.
The Lady Wildcats improve to 20-8 (10-1 District) on the season.
